This year, Celebrate Trails Day will serve as a powerful call to action in Montgomery County, as the Partnership For Transportation and Bike North Penn invite residents to hit the trail and advocate for the completion of the Liberty Bell Trail.
On Sunday, April 26, 2026 community members are encouraged to take part in a 14-mile, easy-paced bike ride along existing segments of the Liberty Bell Trail, traveling from North Wales to Hatfield. Bike North Penn will lead a ride that is designed not only to celebrate trails—but to highlight critical gaps and build momentum to finish one of the region’s most important connections.
“Celebrate Trails Day provides a great opportunity to show why trails matter,” said Jacqui Baxter-Rollins, Executive Director of the Partnership For Transportation. “This ride gives people the chance to experience the Liberty Bell Trail firsthand and join the movement to complete it.
The Liberty Bell Trail is a key connector in The Circuit Trails network, which will ultimately connect to the Schuylkill River Trail and the network of 850 miles of interconnected multiuse trails in the Greater Philadelphia and southern New Jersey region.
Currently, 500 miles of the Circuit Trails are complete, or in-progress. Now, with our partners in the Circuit Trails Coalition, we’re pushing forward to accelerate trail construction in several more sections that will fill-in critical gaps.”
Events have been rescheduled from the official Celebrate Trails Day, April 25, due to forecast inclement weather.
