Perkasie Borough Police are teaming up with local partners this weekend to promote both public safety and community support through a combined drug take-back and food donation event.

The event will take place Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with Perkasie Borough Police Department partnering with the Bucks County Drug and Alcohol Commission and Pennridge FISH.

Residents can drop off unused or unwanted prescription medications, along with over-the-counter drugs, pet medications, vitamins and vaping products. Officials said the goal is to provide a safe way to clear out medicine cabinets while preventing misuse and improper disposal.

At the same time, attendees are encouraged to bring donations to support Pennridge FISH, a local nonprofit that assists individuals and families in need. Organizers provided a wide-ranging list of requested items, including pantry staples like pasta, rice, canned goods and cereal, as well as household essentials such as paper products, cleaning supplies and toiletries. Baby items, including diapers and wipes, are also in demand, along with specialty foods for those with dietary needs.

Police said the dual-purpose event reflects an ongoing effort to strengthen the health and safety of the community, while also helping meet the needs of residents facing food insecurity.

Community members are encouraged to participate in one or both efforts as part of a day focused on giving back and staying safe.
