Two Montgomery County businesses have come together once again to create a seasonal beverage — for a good cause.
Asher’s Chocolate Co., a family-owned manufacturer of premium chocolate and confectionery products, has partnered with Conshohocken Brewing Co. to launch a limited-edition Chocolate Orange Porter, which went on sale on Friday, Oct. 4. A portion of the proceeds from the collaboration will benefit local pediatric cancer research efforts.
The Chocolate Orange Porter features a “silky-smooth and rich body from dark malts, backed up by cocoa nibs, then conditioned on oranges for a bright citrus accent,” according to a press release about the collaboration.
This is the second collaboration between Conshohocken Brewing and Asher’s Chocolates, following their previous release last fall — a Chocolate Peanut Butter Pumpkin Ale. The two companies began their partnership in the summer of 2023 when Conshohocken Brewing opened its pop-up beer garden at Asher’s.
“We were thrilled to see our fans match our excitement for the first collaboration, and we’re sure they’ll enjoy this one just as much. We love working with the Asher’s and are excited for Conshohocken Brewing and Asher’s fans to try our Chocolate Orange Porter,” William Livingston, brand director at Conshohocken Brewing Co., said in a statement.
This month, Asher’s Chocolates — which has been in business for more than 100 years — earned a spot on the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2024 Family-Owned Business Awards for its multi-generational legacy and strong community impact, according to the release.
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Conshohocken Brewing for a second year,” Chester Asher, marketing director at Asher’s Chocolate Co., said in a statement. “Last year’s success made this an easy decision. In the end, what makes our philanthropic efforts so fulfilling is connecting with people, sharing our passion, and making a positive impact.”
The seasonal Chocolate Orange Porter, which has an ABV of 5.3%, is available at the Conshohocken Brewing Pop-Up Beer Garden located at Asher’s Chocolate Co., 80 Wambold Road, Franconia Township, or at any of the four Conshohocken Brewing destinations in Conshohocken, King of Prussia, Phoenixville and Bridgeport. In Pennsylvania, the option to purchase the limited release beer is also available online at ConshyExpress.com.
