Area first responders are currently at the scene of a fatal crash on the 202 Parkway in Montgomery Township.

Crews were dispatched to the intersection with Horsham Road just before 11:30 a.m. for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries and rescue. According to North Penn Now photographer James Short, the crash involves one passenger vehicle and a semi-truck carrying multiple vehicles on its flatbed.

A third vehicle that was observed overturned on the roadway is believed to have come from the semi-truck, as the fastening straps on the roof of the truck were visibly frayed and torn.

At least one person was ejected from their vehicle, and another person was trapped in the wreckage. Multiple corroborating sources told North Penn Now that both people have since been pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is currently unknown.

The 202 Parkway is shut down in both directions between Horsham Road and County Line Road, and motorists are encouraged to avoid the area.

Montgomery Township Police are being assisted at the scene by units from VMSC Emergency Medical Services, Fire Department of Montgomery Township, North Penn Fire Company, and other area agencies.
