Like any good garden, it starts with a seed — and in Lansdale, that seed has grown into one of the region’s most popular weekly traditions.
The Lansdale Farmers’ Market will open its 18th season on Saturday, May 9, returning to its weekly Saturday schedule from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Penndale Middle School, 400 Penn St.
The market operates rain or shine and welcomes pets, from dogs on leashes to the occasional unexpected visitor — organizers noted a bearded dragon even made an appearance last year.
This year’s market features 47 vendors, including seven new additions: Living Smart Granola, Taproot Organic Farm, Yia Yia’s Baklava, Eat the Rich Pickled, Two Girls on Tap, Empanada Casa, and Dairy Velvet. Returning favorites will once again offer a “stay and eat” experience, with Backyard Beans serving coffee, Deep Roots Valley dishing out egg biscuit bombs, Simply Acai offering bowls, and more.
Live music will be part of the weekly lineup, kicking off opening day with Henry Hopf and continuing throughout the season with performers including Scot Silver, Kirsten Morgenstern, Dustin Beck, Elle Gyandoh and the Back Porch Jug Band.
The market, first established in 2008 and now a federally recognized nonprofit, continues to draw strong community support, with weekly attendance reaching up to 2,100 visitors. It was again named “Best Farmers’ Market” in Montgomery County for 2026, marking its 12th consecutive win.
Throughout the season, the market will host a slate of special events, including free birthday cake samples on July 4, free yoga on July 11, a National Honey Bee celebration on Aug. 15, the annual Fall Bake-Off on Oct. 3, a Harvest Market on Nov. 21, and a Holiday Market on Dec. 19.
The market accepts multiple forms of payment, including cash, credit cards, Venmo, SNAP EBT and Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) checks. Some vendors, including Mickley’s Orchard, also offer online pre-orders.
Organizers are currently seeking local business sponsors and volunteers to support the market’s continued growth. Sponsorship opportunities range from major presenting roles to event-specific and community-focused options, while volunteers assist with setup, customer service, photography, events and outreach efforts.
In addition to vendors, the market offers space for local nonprofits through its community tent, providing opportunities for education and engagement.
With partners including Discover Lansdale, Henning’s Trains, Bergey’s Ford of Lansdale and the North Penn School District, the market continues its mission to support local farmers, small businesses and sustainable living — proving once again that in Lansdale, something as simple as a seed can grow into a thriving community staple.
