Investigators allege tools, stolen catalytic converter recovered from vehicle at former Frederick's Flowers
A Bedminster Township man is facing felony charges after police said he was found inside a vacant St. Luke's University Health Network-owned Hilltown Township business -- one that was already the target of two burglars since closing after 91 years in November 2023 -- with tools and evidence tied to metal theft.
Pawel Daniel Wojcik, 35, of the 900 block of Sweetbriar Road, was charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor counts of theft, receiving stolen property, and defiant trespassing, following an April 10, 2026 incident at the former Frederick's Flowers property along the 3500 block of Bethlehem Pike, according to a criminal complaint filed by Hilltown Township Police.
Officers were initially dispatched to a Wawa across the street for a suspicious person and encountered Wojcik, who was reportedly searching for car keys, police said.
During the investigation, police learned he had previously been warned not to return to the shuttered flower shop, which is no longer in operation. When officers checked the building, they discovered a dislodged door and found Wojcik inside wearing a headlamp and surrounded by tools commonly used to cut wiring, police said.
Police reported finding cut electrical wires and damaged boxes throughout the building, along with equipment consistent with stripping metal.
“All of the items that Wojcik had on his possession are typical tools a person would use to cut and steal wiring,” investigators said in the affidavit.
A search of Wojcik’s vehicle allegedly turned up buckets filled with stripped electrical wire and a catalytic converter believed to have been removed from another vehicle, along with tools including a battery-powered saw. Police also reported locating drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
Wojcik is jailed on 10% of $50,000 cash bail ahead of a May 12 preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage.
