Motorists traveling through Lower Salford and Upper Salford townships should plan for detours next week as PennDOT crews conduct base repair work along a stretch of Lederach Road.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the road will be closed Monday, May 4, and Tuesday, May 5, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.
The closure will impact Lederach Road between Haldeman Road and Schwenksville Road.
During the work, drivers will be detoured using Haldeman Road, Salfordville Road/Old Skippack Road, and Schwenksville Road. Officials said local access will be maintained throughout the project, with school buses and emergency vehicles permitted through the work zone.
PennDOT is advising motorists to allow extra time when traveling in the area, as backups and delays are expected during daytime hours. Drivers can monitor real-time traffic conditions through the 511PA system, which provides updates on road closures, travel speeds and weather conditions.
