The child rape case involving a Lansdale man is headed for possible trial at the end of the month.
Md Numir Hossin, 25, of Spruce Street, was charged in October 2024 with felony rape of a child and numerous counts of indecent assault of a child under 13, stemming from incidents that allegedly occurred in May 2018 when the victim was five years old.
Hossin has also been charged with two felony counts each of aggravated indecent assault of a child, indecent assault on a person less than 13 years old, and contact with a minor for purpose of sexual offenses, as well as two misdemeanor counts of indecent assault on a person less than 13, according to court records.
On July 25, 2024, Lansdale Police and the Montgomery County Office of Children and Youth received a referral regarding allegations the sexual abuse of a female juvenile victim, police said. In a follow up interview with investigators, the girl alleged that she was sexually assaulted by Hossin on multiple occasions when he was 17 years old, according to charging documents.
On Sept. 3, Hossin was interviewed by police about the alleged incidents. Hossin reportedly said the incident happened once, and not the three or four times the victim alleged, per the complaint.
He also told police that since the victim was little, she could not have “adult feelings,” per the affidavit.
Montgomery County detectives conducted a polygraph on Hossin, police said, however the results of the test were not included in the affidavit of probable cause.
Hossin is free on $100,000 bond, posted in September, per court records. The case is scheduled for the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Call of the Trial List on March 31.
