A millionaire is in our midst.
The Pennsylvania Lottery confirmed last week that a winning $3 million scratch-off ticket was sold at the CVS Pharmacy at 548 Doylestown Road in Montgomery Township.
CVS will get $10,000 for selling the ticket.
The winner paid $30 for the “$3,000,000 Gold Ticket” game, which offers $3 million as the top prize, the lottery said.
Scratch-Off prizes must be claimed within one year of the game’s official end-sale date.
Winners should immediately sign the back of their ticket and call the Lottery at 1-800-692-7481.
The Pennsylvania Lottery said Scratch-Offs are distributed at random, meaning the Pennsylvania Lottery and its retailers do not know where winning tickets will be sold. The Lottery learns where winning tickets are sold only after a prize has been claimed.
The Pennsylvania Lottery remains the only state lottery to direct all proceeds to programs that benefit older residents, according to its website.
Since ticket sales began in 1972, it has contributed more than $36.2 billion to fund property tax and rent rebates, transportation, care services, prescription assistance, and local services including senior centers and meals, according to its website.
The Pennsylvania Lottery operates as a bureau within the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue.
