The Lansdale Farmers’ Market is about to enter its mid-teens, and shows no signs of slowing down.
Opening Day of the market’s 16th regular season will be this Saturday, May 11, with market Saturdays running through Dec. 21, except for Nov. 23 when the market will be closed.
As it has since 2017, the market will be held at Penndale Middle School, 400 Penn St. in Lansdale, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. rain or shine. While recent weeks have offered a scaled-down winter version of the market, the summer market offers a longer list of vendors, offering a mix of edible, crafted, and grown goodies.
New this year, SNAP EBT cards are now accepted, and market vendors will provide more hot, ready-to-eat breakfast and lunch foods, including fresh crepes, breakfast buns, egg and cheese “biscuit bombs”, and meat hand pies, according to market organizers. Those can pair with coffee or kombucha served by returning vendors Backyard Beans or PorTch Tea.
Live music will be provided on opening day by acoustic guitarist Henry Hopf, and the market will feature 42 vendors this year, including several new ones: Apple City Crepes (notably using the very same crepe equipment from our retired vendor Katharine’s Crepes), Fungified Farm, Tybuk Farm Maple Syrup, Birchrun Hills Farm, Deep Roots Valley Farm, Three Legged Hare, Meadowsweet Moon Herbs, PA Floral Preservation, Live Hot Sauce, and Saint Rocco’s Treats.
The market has also been named the winner of the number one Best Farmers’ Market on Montgomery County Happening List 2024, the tenth time the market has been honored by that publication.
