Stacy Crandell has resigned as Souderton borough manager just six months after accepting the position.

Crandell, who did not respond to a request for comment, was hired in October to succeed 40-year incumbent Mike Coll. She was previously the assistant manager in Montgomery Township, Worcester Township and Doylestown Township.

“Stacy is no longer with Souderton Borough,” said Souderton mayor Dan Yocum. “All further inquires should be directed to Council President Tracy Burke.”

Burke did not respond to a request for comment.

During her tenure, Crandell reformed the worker’s compensation program, implemented a new website and developed a capital plan. Most notably, she helped engineer a 37% property tax increase, a decision that was “not made lightly” but “needed,” she said.

Council accepted Crandell’s resignation at a work session on April 15 and appointed Finance Director Sara Jarrett-Eaton as acting borough manager. Jarrett-Eaton was previously the assistant manager for Emmaus Borough in Lehigh County.

At Montgomery Township, Crandell served as assistant to the township manager from 2012 to 2020, and public information coordinator from 2007 to 2012, according to her LinkedIn.

Prior to coming on board in Souderton, Crandell was assistant township manager in Doylestown Township for a 17 months and assistant township manager in Worcester Township for two years.

According to her LinkedIn, Crandell also served as secretary, zoning officer, and open records officer at Souderton Borough.
