1 transported after 2-vehicle crash at Weikel and Allentown roads in Towamencin
SUV narrowly missed utility pole after leaving roadway during Tuesday morning collision


One person was transported to the hospital late Tuesday morning following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Weikel and Allentown roads in Towamencin Township.
Emergency crews were dispatched around 11:10 a.m. for reports of a crash with injuries involving two vehicles, according to Montgomery County dispatch reports.
At the scene, responders found a black GMC Terrain SUV with heavy front-end damage that had left the roadway and come to rest in the grass, narrowly missing a nearby utility pole. A white Toyota sedan sustained significant front-side quarter-panel damage and was left blocking part of the intersection.
Both female drivers were conscious and alert following the crash, according to information from the scene. One driver was transported by VMSC Emergency Medical Services for further evaluation, while the second driver reportedly complained of hand pain.
Towamencin Township Police Department, Towamencin Volunteer Fire Company and VMSC Emergency Medical Services responded to the incident.
Traffic in the area was impacted while crews assisted the drivers and cleared the damaged vehicles from the roadway. The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
