The Lansdale and Indian Valley branches of North Penn YMCA will host Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering free activities for children and families.
During the event, the Y will be offering a behind-the-scenes look at the newly expanded program and wellness spaces at the Lansdale branch, located at 608 E Main St., said a North Penn YMCA press release.
Event attendees will be able to tour the major facility upgrades, including a brand new gymnasium, a newly constructed mezzanine level stocked with state-of-the-art cardio and strength-training equipment, including a functional fitness area, new group exercise studio and a NinjaZone center. NinjaZone is a youth-focused, multidisciplinary program that combines obstacle courses, gymnastics, and martial arts to build strength, agility, and character in a supportive YMCA environment.
Both branches of the North Penn YMCA, including the Indian Valley branch at 890 Maple Avenue, Harleysville, will be free and open to the community from April 25 to May 2, said the release.
“We are excited to provide a first look of our new space in Lansdale,” said Bob Gallagher, CEO of North Penn YMCA. “Healthy Kids Day is the perfect time to invite the community in to see the new gym, studios and equipment as we celebrate our commitment to the health and wellness of our youth.”

Healthy Kids Day is the YMCA’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of children and families. For more than 30 years, YMCAs across the country have hosted free community events designed to inspire kids to stay mentally and physically active throughout the summer and beyond. Sports, games, information/activity tables and open family swim are scheduled for both North Penn YMCA branches on April 25.
Healthy Kids Day is also an opportunity for families to learn about YMCA summer camp programs, and the Y is offering $25 off camp registration to families who sign up for camp at the event, said the release.
The event is free and open to the community. Registration is not required. For more information, visit northpennymca.org
