Two Indian Valley eateries and two beloved pizza parlors in the North Penn area had no serious food handling violations in their recent Montgomery County Office of Public Health food safety inspections this month.

Giuseppe’s Pizza & Family Restaurant at 101 Cowpath Road in Hatfield Township was inspected on June 2, where it had no food handling, cooking or storage violations. However, the longtime gathering spot for appetites was dinged for expired chemical sanitizer test strips.

According to its website, Giuseppe’s Pizza and Family Restaurant has been a landmark in the Hatfield-Lansdale area for almost 40 years. It currently has 3.5/5 stars on Yelp from 101 reviews, and 4.4/5 stars on Google from 922 reviews.

Its menu includes its famous pizza, voted best in the North Penn Community many times over, per its website. Other offerings include wings, sandwiches, appetizers, and entrées.  The place offers eat-in, pickup or delivery. Giuseppe’s is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday. Call them at 215-362-1401.

On the other side of town, in Lansdale Borough, at 721 E. Main St., Nino’s Pizza also had no violations related to food or food handling on June 5, according to the inspection report. Nino’s is currently ranked 3.5/5 stars out of 33 reviews on Yelp, and 4.4/5 stars on Google Reviews, from 392 reviews.

In 2015, the late Nino Maltese celebrated 50 years as a pizza expert, captured by The Reporter here.

After emigrating from Sicily in 1956, Maltese said that he worked in other restaurants and spent time in construction before opening the first Nino’s Pizza in 1966 in New Jersey. A year later, he moved the operation to Lansdale.

The business was a success early on, he told The Reporter in 2015, when he was the only game in town.

“I was the beginning,” Maltese said about the pizza business in town. “I was more busy then because there was no competition.”

Maltese moved to the current location on Main Street nearly 40 years ago; before that his shop was on West Second Street, a spot currently occupied by Frank’s Pizza.

Today, Nino’s Pizza has it all – while known for its pizza, especially the buffalo chicken, it offers cheesesteaks, hoagies, burgers and more. View a menu here. Nino’s is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday. It offers eat-in, delivery and takeout. Call them at 215-362-9227.

Shake Shack, a chain fast food restaurant that recently opened in Montgomeryville at Airport Square, described on Google as a “hip, counter-serve chain for gourmet takes on fast-food classics like burgers and frozen custard,” had no violations during its June 2 inspection.

The fast-food joint just launched fried pickles on its menu. It currently has 4.2/5 stars on Google Reviews from 324 reviewers, and 3/5 stars out of 23 reviews on Yelp. It is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

In the Indian Valley, Suspenders Bar & Grill at 104 Allentown Road in the Elroy section of Franconia Township, was inspected June 10 and had no food handling violations. It holds a 4.4/5 star rating on Googel Reviews from 249 reviewers, and a 4/5 star ranking on Yelp from 17 reviews.

The reasonably-priced cozy establishment offers dine-in and outdoor seating. There is Tuesday Trivia Night every Tuesday, with Taco Tuesday specials, and Philly sports home game drink specials.

Its menu features items like calzones, wings, Hawaiian chicken sandwiches, nachos, a variety of burgers and hot dogs, cheesesteaks, chicken parm melts, many varieties of French fries, salads, hot roast beef sandwiches, pub-style cod, chilis, wraps, BBQ chicken ranch melts, and more. Call them at (215) 723-6363 or order online here.

Finally, Asian fusion restaurant Noodle Eighty Eight at 664 E. Broad St., Souderton, had no food issues, apart from containers stacked on top of unspecified food items. It currently holds a 4.5/5 star ranking on Google Reviews out of 440 reviews. Delivery and online ordering is available. Noodle Eighty Eight Souderton is open 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday-Monday and closed Tuesday. Call 215-721-0888.

As noted by the MCOPH, the reports are merely a “snapshot” in time, and “may not be representative of the overall, long-term cleanliness of an establishment.”
