Shakedown Citi’s free Lansdale show rescheduled to Sept. 2 due to storms

Heads up, Deadheads: Mother Nature’s throwing a curveball, but the music never stops.

Fear not — the jam is just delayed, not denied.

Originally set for Tuesday night in White's Road Park in Lansdale, Shakedown Citi, the region’s premier Grateful Dead tribute band, will now bring their cosmic grooves and swirling jams to Lansdale this fall for a free outdoor show Sept. 2 that promises vibes as electric as a ‘77 Scarlet Fire.

The concert runs from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and fuel for the journey will be from Meat Wagon BBQ and Favorite Child Brewing Co. Admission? Free as a bird.

Bring your tapestries, your glow hoops, your cooler of kombucha — or just your best boogie shoes — and turn that early September sky into a swirling sea of starlit sound.

Whether you’re grooving barefoot in the grass or posted up in your folding chair, it will be the Tuesday to let your soul shine in a borough built on rhythm and rails.

Hosted by the Lansdale Borough Parks and Recreation Department, the beloved series brings family-friendly entertainment to the park every Tuesday at 7 p.m. through August 19. Each concert features special food and drink vendors, like Well Crafted Beer and Favorite Child Brewing Co.

Held at White’s Road Park (400 Whites Road, Lansdale), the concert series offers residents and visitors a chance to enjoy warm summer evenings with a wide variety of musical performances — from funk and ska to country, rock, and even Latin-guitar fusion — set against the natural beauty of one of Lansdale’s most scenic green spaces.

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy a picnic atmosphere. Outside food is welcome, but alcohol from outside is not permitted.

The concert series is funded in part by a grant from the Pharo Family Fund of the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation.

Concerts are weather dependent, and any cancellation announcements will be posted on the Borough of Lansdale Parks and Recreation Facebook page and www.lansdale.org.
