A 46-year-old Lansdale man fell 25 feet from the roof of a building in Essex County, New Jersey Friday morning and was transported by Medevac to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

Fairfield Police Department announced Friday that they received a 911 call for a male who had fallen from the roof of a commercial building at 310 Fairfield Road.

The victim is employed by a roofing company in Delran, NJ, police said.

As the victim was conducting roof work, he fell from at least 25 feet onto metal piping, where he became entrapped, police said.

The extent of the victim's injuries are not known as of Friday evening, police said, but he was conscious and talking at the time of transport to the hospital.

Multiple resources including the Fairfield Police Department, Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department, West Essex First Aid Squad Heavy Rescue, Atlantic EMS and private citizens all assisted with the extrication, police said.

“Being entrapped in pipes after falling from a roof is not something that emergency responders ever train for. But in this case, all of the first responders used their training to safely extricate the victim. They did an outstanding job” said Officer Stacy Chiarolanza.
