A fire reported in Towamencin Township has first responders active Sunday night

Just before 10 p.m., rescue units were called to Mulberry Court in Towamencin.

First responders were called out on Sunday night for the report of a non-commercial building fire in Towamencin.

An occupant of a home in Towamencin Township reported that a breaker in the kitchen began to smoke around 9:57 p.m. on Sunday evening. First responders were called to the area of the 2200 block of Mulberry Court, which is a dead-end drive, just off of Morgandale Drive within the township. According to county dispatch, the people inside the home were asked to evacuate.

Responding to the scene were units from Towamencin Fire Company, Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company, as well as local other first responders.

There were no injuries reported at this time, though information is still being gathered as to the cause and extent of damage, said those at the scene.
