A vehicular accident has traffic in Montgomery Township has an area shopping center off of Welsh Road closed off on this Tuesday afternoon.
According to Montgomery County Dispatch, emergency units were called to a “rollover” vehicle accident on Welsh Road at North Wales Road in Montgomery Township Tuesday afternoon around 2:31 p.m. The accident was in the parking lot of the McDonald’s at 1200 Welsh Road within the Montgomery Commons shopping center.
Witnesses stated that a car was flipped over in the incident. The condition of those involved is unknown at this time.
A silver, Honda Accord four-door collided with a black, Kia Optima four-door, which came to rest on its side. An emergency extrication was required of the Kia’s driver, police said at the scene.
Those at the scene did confirm that the driver was successfully extricated by emergency responders. Two ambulances did transport two individuals in unknown condition.
Responding to the accident were units from Station 18 Fire Department of Montgomery Township, Volunteer Medical Services Corps. of Lansdale, Montgomery Township Police and fire police, and Fairmount Volunteer Fire Company of Lansdale, among other responders.
While the parking area of the shopping center is closed in all directions, area traffic has not been largely impacted, witnesses said.
