Lansdale Residents, Business Owners Urged to Fill Economic Development Committee Vacancy

The Lansdale Economic Development Committee is still seeking an interested resident or business owner to fill one vacancy left behind by the resignation of Councilman Mark Ladley in January.

Councilman Mike Yetter, who was appointed last month to fulfill Ladley’s remaining term, had been appointed to the committee prior to this council appointment, and thus keeps his seat on the committee while serving as councilman.

Those interested in serving for the two-year term should send a letter of interest to Board Vacancies c/o Stacie Maile, One Vine St., Lansdale, Pa 19446, or email to [email protected]. The letter of interest can include any relevant information and experience which may benefit the committee being applied for.

According to the Lansdale Borough website, the EDC is "tasked with championing the economic development of our historic Main Street, our existing commercial corridors and our industrial quadrant with the goals of improving the quality of lives of borough residents, attracting private investment to create jobs and augment the tax base and adaptively reusing underutilized and vacant commercial property.”

Committee member duties include acting as a liaison between borough government and prospective and existing businesses, coordinating the marketing of Lansdale toward targeted businesses, interfacing with the Lansdale Business Association and Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County, and working with business owners to create a vision for Lansdale’s future, among other roles.

The committee is an advisory board to Lansdale Borough Council. Per the website, the committee can recommend how to improve municipal processes that support all businesses and provide leads on businesses interested in locating in Lansdale.

The committee meets every third Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at Lansdale Borough Hall.

The current committee is comprised of Yetter, Chairman/Borough Councilman Andrew Carroll, Vice Chairman Doug Bellenger, Councilman BJ Breish, Tony Di Domizio, Jonathan Robinson, Thomas McKee, and Peter Worthington.
