Two-vehicle accident with injuries shuts down West Orvilla Road Thursday night

A major accident in Hatfield Township has sent at least two people to an area hospital by VMSC Emergency Medical Services and trapped another in their vehicle at Orvilla and Schwab roads Thursday night.

Orvilla Road is closed between Koffel Road and the railroad crossing.

According to reports on scene, a dark-colored Toyota Camry and a tan Toyota Corolla collided at the intersection at 10:27 p.m. The driver of the Camry had to be rescued in the vehicle and placed on a stretcher with a neck brace by VMSC.

The driver of the Corolla told a reporter at the scene that he was turning left onto Schwab Road, when the Camry collided with the Corolla mid-turn.

Hatfield Volunteer Fire Co. was assisted at the scene by Hatfield Police, Towamencin Vol. Fire Co., Fairmount Fire Co. of Lansdale and Hatfield Township Fire Marshal’s Office.

Both cars sustained serious damage in the wreck.

The scene remains under investigation.
