Six days ago, Mindy Lee Lipsky resigned after six years at Pottstown Regional Public Library – two of it as executive director – and Monday she begins as the new head of Lansdale Library.

“I have made the difficult decision to resign from my position. It has been an honor to work with such a dedicated team and to serve our wonderful community. I am incredibly proud of all we have accomplished together, from earning our PA Forward Gold Star, to celebrating 100 years in service to the community, to obtaining library cards attached to every student ID in Pottstown and Pottsgrove school districts, just to name a few,” Lipsky wrote on LinkedIn.

Lipsky, who starts June 17 at Lansdale, thanked the staff, volunteers and patrons of Pottstown’s library.

The Emmaus High School graduate received a bachelor’s in psychology from Shippensburg University and a Master of Library Sciences & Information Science in May 2023 from Pennwest Clarion, per LinkedIn.

“Your support and passion for our library have been truly inspiring,” she wrote. “As I embark on my next chapter, I will always cherish the memories and experiences we've shared. I won't be moving out of Pottstown, so I look forward to continuing to be an active part of this amazing community.”

Prior to her time at Pottstown, Lipsky was a certified professional and business coach and a May Kay independent consultant

Lipsky replaces Shira Pilarski, who left the director position a little more than six months in due to family issues and relocation.

Previous director Tom Meyer stepped down from the position in March 2023 after 15 years.
