A tree knocked out wires and cut power to few homes near West Mt. Vernon Street and Valley Forge Road during a Wednesday night thunderstorm in Lansdale Borough.

The incident occurred to the rear of 1033 West Mt. Vernon Street, near the border with Towamencin Township.

Fairmount Fire Co. of Lansdale responded to the scene and the situation was cleared in a half-hour.

"A tree branch fell and pulled down some wires from pole to pole," said Fairmount Assistant Fire Chief Ryan Lischke. "Lansdale Electric is en route."

Lischke confirmed only a few houses in the area were affected briefly by the outage.

There were no injuries.
