Lansdale Police issued a release on the results of Monday's compliance checks.

Ten Lansdale Borough businesses have been cited by police for selling tobacco products to minors during a recent tobacco compliance check.

Lansdale Police said officers conducted the compliance checks on Monday, in conjunction with the Council of Southeast Pennsylvania.

All borough retailers, police said, who are assigned a tobacco license through the state are subject to compliance checks throughout the year.

Repeated violations, police said, can result in loss of the license.

According to the Pennsylvania Crimes Code, the first offense for a retailer is a fine between $100 and $500. The second offense is a fine between $500 and $1,000. A third offense is a fine between $1,000 and $3,000, and any fourth or subsequent offense is a fine between $3,000 and $5,000.

Sunoco, 291 N. Broad St.


Choice Mini Mart, 216 N. Broad St.


Indian Deli, 209 S. Broad St.


Lansdale Smoke Shop, 107-A Walnut St.


Tobacco Convenience, 610 E. Main St.


ALS Market, 98 North Wales Road


All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
