Highland Avenue accident in Lansdale sends one driver to hospital with cardiac arrest Thursday

Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale performed CPR on the driver, who crahed a Mazda Protege shortly after 1 p.m.

Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale medics performed CPR on a driver of a Mazda Protégé who crashed into bushes and trees along the 700 block of Highland Avenue in Lansdale Thursday afternoon, resulting in the driver being taken to an area hospital, according to reports from the scene.

The accident occurred at 1:17 p.m. Highland Avenue was closed between Clear Spring and Crestview roads.

Fairmount Vol. Fire Co. and Lansdale Borough Police assisted at the scene.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle. The gender and age of the driver is unknown at this time. 

The driver's condition is also unknown.

The scene was cleared by 1:40 p.m.
