Souderton’s Party in the Park Offers a Night of Family Fun

Souderton’s free Party in the Park event Friday evening drew a sizable crowd.

Family fun abounded at Souderton Borough Park Friday evening, September 22, as the Party in the Park got underway.

Thrill-seeking children glided down parallel zip lines and scaled a towering rock wall, while others raced through an inflatable obstacle course, worked to keep the ball off the ground and tested their aim in a corn hole tournament.

Families crowded the pavilion to enjoy hot dogs, soft pretzels and water ice, while others lined up for a chance to win a number of raffle prizes, including gift cards, a Nintendo game system and a Blackstone grill.

The free event was organized by Keystone North Church, a new church in Souderton. Friday’s Party in the Park marks the Church’s third event, following a back-to-school fundraiser and another Party in the Park event over the summer.

“This is the heartbeat of our church. Everything is free, run by volunteers,” said Chris Cope, a pastor at Keystone North Church. “We know there’s a lot of people, families looking for things to do, so we want to keep doing events like this. Our heart is for the people of this community.”

Keystone North Church meets at Souderton Area High School on Sundays at 10 a.m.

“We’d love for you to join us,” Cope said to the crowd.
