Hilltown Police Investigating Home Invasion Involving Armed Men Claiming to be with Sheriff’s Department

UPDATE: May 31, 10:01 a.m. - Hilltown Township Police provided North Penn Now with a brief update Wednesday morning, indicating that two of the suspects were white, the third suspect was Black or Hispanic, and the victim was specifically targeted and the home invasion was not random.

Hilltown Township Police are investigating a home invasion robbery in the Green Meadows Community after armed men claiming to be with the sheriff’s department tied up a homeowner then ransacked his home and stole numerous items – including a pair of handguns.

Investigators said the incident occurred on May 25 at a home on Reliance Place. The victim told police that three men entered their home identifying as members of the sheriff’s department, and at least one of the men was armed with a handgun. The men tied the victim’s hands behind his back and laid him on the floor, then proceeded to steal items from the home before fleeing the scene.

The homeowner was not harmed during the incident, police said. Both stolen firearms were registered to the homeowner, according to investigators.
