A Lansdale woman was arrested over the weekend after she allegedly assaulted a police officer after being asked to leave a local business.
Police were dispatched to the location at 6:51 p.m. on May 7 for a report of an intoxicated woman that was screaming at the staff for no reason. Upon arrival, police spoke to a manager who said the woman — later identified as 28-year-old Sofia Lindholm — had some drinks then allegedly vomited on the table. Lindholm then began screaming at the staff as they attempted to clean up the mess, before heading into the bathroom, according to charging documents.
Police waited outside of the bathroom for Lindholm for 10 minutes, and when she came out and was asked to leave, she charged towards the manager in a violent way, the report states. Lindholm continued to yell and repeatedly attempted to charge towards staff members and was intoxicated to an extent that her behavior was unpredictable, and she was incapable of controlling her emotional state, police said.
Lindholm was taken into custody at 7:10 p.m. and was escorted through the back of the restaurant to a patrol vehicle, at which point she allegedly resisted arrest and attempted to prevent police from placing her in the vehicle, the report states. As police secured her in the vehicle, Lindholm then kicked one officer once in the chest and three times in the head, according to the criminal complaint.
After being transported to the police station, Lindholm continued to disobey commands and attempted to bite the hand of an officer who was escorting her to a cell, police said.
As a result of the incident, Lindholm has been charged with felony counts of aggravated assault – attempts to cause bodily injury to designated individuals, along with misdemeanor counts of simple assault, defiant trespassing, resisting arrest and obstruction of law enforcement, and summary counts of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
Court record show Lindholm was arraigned the following day by District Judge Paul Leo, who set bail at $2,500 unsecured. She was then released from custody, and her preliminary hearing has been scheduled for May 18 at 1:30 p.m. in front of Judge Leo.
Lindholm has multiple prior convictions in Bucks and Montgomery counties for DUI and obstruction of law enforcement, court records show.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using court records and the affidavit of probable cause.
