Traffic Signal Modernization Project for Mall Access Drives Goes to Rebid in Montgomery Township

An access drive to Montgomery Mall off Bethlehem Pike.

A rebid for the traffic signal modernization project on Route 309 and Montgomery Mall Access Drives was called for by the Montgomery Township Supervisors during their meeting last week.

During the meeting, Montgomery Township Supervisors estimated the cost to refurbish and replace the existing traffic signals at Route 309 and Montgomery Mall Access Drives. The township had a budget of $1,046,150, though they received a bid of $1,545,963.55.

The concrete contractor, traffic engineers, and staff advised the board that the pricing difference was too significant — $491,000.  Montgomery Township Supervisors then rejected the bid and asked to rebid.
