North Penn School District to Go 100% Virtual on Friday Due to Forecasted Snow

(The following information was provided by North Penn School District.)

Tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 7, will be a synchronous learning day held virtually. All NPSD buildings will be closed. The decision has been made based on forecasted weather for this evening and into tomorrow morning, the number of staff available for in-person instruction, and the challenge of having our campus cleared of snow as we experience staffing gaps in our facilities crew.

Learning will be synchronous, meaning the school day will be held following its normal schedule but virtually. Students are expected to have cameras on and to actively engage in their classes. In the event that a student does not, the student will be marked absent. In rare cases, if a staff member is not able to instruct, asynchronous instruction will occur. In those instances, coursework will be available in Canvas.

Technology support will be available onsite this evening. Jan. 6, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Please sign up for an appointment. Support is also available via email at [email protected].

After-school activities planned for 3 p.m. and later are expected to be held, but an official decision will be made by noon tomorrow.

Because of many factors involved, NPSD was able to make this decision very early, which may not be the case for additional weather events this winter. Thank you for your patience as we manage the 2022 challenges of COVID-19 and weather.
