Bucks County Deputy Involved in Bar Fight, Suggested Security Footage Be Edited, Detectives Say

A Bucks County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been charged following an investigation that stemmed from a barroom brawl.

Nicole Therese Crescenzo, 43, who lives in Lower Makefield Township and has a recent address in Levittown, was charged via summons this week with two counts of criminal solicitation – tamper with/fabricate physical evidence and single counts of criminal solicitation – obstruct administration of law and disorderly conduct.

The charges were filed after an investigation by the Bucks County Detectives and Yardley Borough police.

On Saturday, October 22 at 12:42 a.m., the Bucks County 9-1-1 center received an abandoned 9-1-1 call from the Continental Tavern in Yardley Borough. Two minutes after the call came in, a borough patrol unit responded and spoke with a bartender, who reported two women were in a fight and one already left, according to court papers.

The borough officer went outside and found Crescenzo, who was reportedly involved in the fight, police said.

Crescenzo told the responding officer she was attacked by another woman at the bar. She said the woman grabbed her by the neck and threw her to the floor, police said.

No arrests were made the morning of the fight, and the borough officer obtained the surveillance footage from the Continental Tavern.

A review of the video showed Crescenzo sitting next to Melissa Wojcik, 38, of Yardley, at the establishment. Within seconds, Crescenzo was spotted shrugging, police said.

Four seconds after the shrug, Wojchik grabbed Crescenzo by the throat and pushed her off the bar stool, police said.

Bystanders separated the two women and Crescenzo ripped off her jacket, police said.

Crescenzo was seen “acting aggressively” and the bartender asked Wojchik to leave, which she did, police said.

Crescenzo remained aggressive toward bar patrons and people helping restrain her as Wojchik left, police said.

The video, according to investigators, then showed Crescenzo strike a male bar patron, slap a woman, and start a fight involving multiple people. The off-duty deputy then struck a bartender in the face and attacked another man before she calmed down, eventually being escorted out.

A bartender at the tavern reported to investigators that Crescenzo went “ape s**t” and described the melee, police said.

The bartender relayed to investigators Crescenzo was a regular customer at the bar and she knew she was a sheriff’s deputy and recently was sworn in as a part-time police officer in the Central Bucks Police Department in Doylestown Borough, police said.

In the hours after the bar fight, Crescenzo’s boyfriend called the manager at the Continental Tavern and requested to see the video. The manager had just come in for work and called back Crescenzo’s boyfriend while the defendant was also on the phone, police said.

The manager at the bar reportedly told Crescenzo’s boyfriend and the off-duty law enforcement official that the video didn’t look good.

A few days later, Crescenzo contacted the bar manager and asked if there was a way to edit the video to stop after Wojchik choked her, police said.

Crescenzo asked how well she knew the general manager, and the manager warned her that he “won’t do anything illegal,” police said.

The Yardley Borough officer and a county detective directly asked the Continental Tavern manager if she felt like Crescenzo was requesting she erase the video, police said.

“Yes,” the manager reportedly replied.

The manager further stated she knew Crescenzo worked in law enforcement, and Crescenzo told her she was petrified she was going to lose her job over what happened, police said.

Court papers didn’t lay out if the two women knew one another prior to the incident or if they exchanged words.

Crescenzo is a former county 9-1-1 dispatcher who became a sheriff’s deputy in 2019. In summer, she started part-time work as a patrol officer at the Central Bucks Regional Police Department, according to publicly available information.

Sheriff Fred Harran didn’t return a request for comment on the charges. It is unclear if Crescenzo remains working for the sheriff’s office.

Attorney Michael Parlow is representing Crescenzo.

“She looks forward to her day in court and being exonerated of the charges,” he told LevittownNow.com.

In relation to the bar incident, Wojcik was charged via summons with disorderly conduct and harassment.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using court records and the affidavit of probable cause.
