Towamencin Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will celebrate Veterans Day at Wentz’s United Church of Christ Cemetery, 3246 Skippack Pike, Lansdale, PA, on Thursday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. The public is welcome to attend.
The ceremony will also commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA, and will include proclamations and remarks by invited guests. Invitees include a representative of the Honor Guard of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Phoenixville High School ROTC, the Pennsylvania State Regent of the DAR, the Regents of Towamencin and Gwynedd Chapters of the DAR, and various veterans from the area.
The event will include a wreath-laying at Wentz’s Cemetery. 32 known patriots from the Revolutionary War, as well as many soldiers from other wars, are buried at the cemetery.
