Lansdale Police Chief Addresses Coronavirus Pandemic, Social Distancing Efforts

Lansdale Borough Police Chief Michael Trail.

Lansdale Borough Police Chief Michael Trail has issued a public letter to residents regarding the new social distancing measures and efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

The letter reads, in full:

“Today, Lansdale residents and other communities around the nation awoke to a new era of rules in how we interact, shop, spend our free time and live our daily lives. New terms, such as ‘social distancing,’ and the effects of a pandemic have impacted our community, making some of us very concerned for what tomorrow may bring.

I am asking residents of Lansdale Borough to follow the directives given by the federal government, Pennsylvania officials, and Montgomery County officials to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 as follows:

  1. Wash your hands frequently.
  2. Avoid large gatherings.
  3. Self-quarantine if you are sick, and contact your doctor by phone.
  4. Avoid unnecessary travel.
  5. Actively monitor the situation, as needed for changing directives.

This is an opportunity for our community to rally together in spirit—see number two—and show how together we can slow the spread of this disease and become a role model for other communities to emulate.

Most importantly, we must work to contain rumors and work from facts about the actions which may come in the next few days or weeks. I will end by saying that all the facts point to the reality that this shall pass, and we will continue to thrive as a community in the years to come both locally and as a nation.

Please continue to monitor the Lansdale Borough website for the most recent news regarding the situation on the ground, and please stay safe.

Michael B. Trail
