Hatfield Township Honors Class of 2020 Grads with Drive-Through Celebration

North Penn’s Class of 2020 graduates have had a rough go of it lately, having been abruptly cutoff from in-person learning in March and having to settle for a hybrid graduation and commencement ceremony due to restrictions placed by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Nevertheless, the Class of 2020 has proved to be resilient throughout these uncertain times, and that resilience was honored on Wednesday by a consortium of Hatfield Township officials and employees.

A drive-through celebration was held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hatfield Township Building, in celebration of the students’ collective achievements. Grads and their families were encouraged to take a victory lap through a gauntlet of first responders, township employees and elected officials, including members of the Hatfield Township Board of Commissioners, Hatfield Township Police Department, Hatfield Fire Company, Colmar Fire Company and Hatfield Public Works Department.

North Penn Now photographer Bob Kelly was on scene snapping up images throughout the event. Check out his gallery below!
