The Mosque plans to offer more than 15,000 pounds of free food, procured through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Farmers to Families program. Derstine’s Food Services in Sellersville will be providing the food.
Each box will contain approximately 10 pounds of assorted produce. Each family will be eligible to receive up to 30 pounds of food.
The pickup point will be in the parking lot of the Mosque, 600 Maple Ave., Lansdale. Arrangements have been made to either have the packages directly placed in cars, or optionally to allow picking up of the produce in person.
COVID-19 precautions including mask-wearing and social-distancing measures will be in place, according to the Mosque.
The times of operations are: Thursday, Aug. 20, 6 to 10:30 p.m.; Friday, Aug. 21, 1:45 to 10:30 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 22, 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
