Coronavirus Shutdown – Week Six: Photos

It’s now been six weeks since Governor Tom Wolf initially announced drastic mitigation efforts to combat the increasing spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

On March 6, Pennsylvania confirmed its first case of the COVID-19 coronavirus. One week later, social distancing efforts were put in place in Montgomery County, and over the days and weeks that followed, the mitigation efforts evolved into a stay at home order, which has now been implemented statewide.

As of 12:01 a.m. on April 24, there were 36,665 positive cases across the commonwealth, and more than 1,394 people have died.

Much will be written over the coming weeks, months and years about this period in our history. Articles and features will detail how we adapted, how we survived, what went wrong and what went right. In an effort to supplement the written part of the story, North Penn Now photographer Bob Kelly has decided to provide the visual side to the story.

Below, please view this week’s photo gallery, which highlights images from the sixth week of social distancing and mitigation efforts across the North Penn area.
