Hatfield Police Corporal Steven Cameron was recently honored for his service upon his retirement.
Cameron was recognized for his 25 years of service with a resolution that commends him for his service, as well as congratulates him on his retirement. The resolution was presented to Cameron at the Hatfield Board of Commissioners Meeting on Apr. 24.
The resolution reads:
Whereas, Steven Cameron began his professional law enforcement career with the Hatfield Township Police Department on April 28, 1993, and
Whereas, in his time with the Hatfield Township Police Department from 1994 Steven Cameron served as an officer, assistant team leader and a team leader till he was promoted to Corporal in 2013, and
Whereas, Corporal Cameron used the skills and knowledge he obtained to serve the Montgomery County Area and the Montgomery Drug Task Force, the North Penn Tactical Response Team, as a School Resource Officer and Rapid Response Coordinator, and
Whereas, during Corporal Cameron’s career he has achieved numerous instructor certifications which include firearms instructor, armorer, taser instructor, handcuffing instructor, pepper spray instructor and baton instructor, Corporal Cameron is also a member of the National Tactical Officers Association and International Terrorism Officer Association.
Now therefore, it is hereby resolved, that the Borough Council and Mayor of the Borough of Hatfield, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, hereby congratulates Steven Cameron on his retirement and commends him for his years of service to the Hatfield community. Our community is a better place because of his dedicated service.
Now Approved, by the Borough Council of the Borough of Hatfield, as a duly advertised public meeting held this 17th Day of April, 2019 with three council members voting “Aye” and zero council members voting “Nay.”
