Indian Crest Middle School Locked Down Following Nearby Armed Robbery Attempt [UPDATED]

UPDATE: Feb. 28, 9:26 a.m. - Franconia Township Police have released an image of the armed robbery suspect, along with the following statement:

"At 7:34 a.m. this morning, a robbery with a knife was attempted at the Telford Convenience Store at 126 Penn Avenue next to the police station. If anyone can identify this male suspect, please call the Telford Police Department at 215-723-6700."

UPDATE: Feb. 28, 8:53 a.m. - The lock-down has been lifted, according to our sources. Police are scaling back from the scene, as they continue to search for the suspect elsewhere.
 
In total, the school was on lock-down for roughly one hour.

Indian Crest Middle School in Souderton has been locked down following an armed robbery attempt at a nearby convenience store.

Sources tell North Penn Now that the armed robbery attempt occurred just before 8 a.m. along the 100 block of Penn Avenue in Telford. The suspect reportedly brandished a knife, and then fled the scene on foot. Police recovered the knife, which was found on the ground, and have enlisted canine support in tracking the suspect.

No injuries have been reported.
