On Sept. 15, XL Sports World in Hatfield will team up with Keeping Kids Connected—a website geared towards listing family-friendly events in Montgomery County—to host a Fall Fest Open House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event will feature a wide variety of local vendors, a moon bounce, face painting, raffles and giveaways for parents. Kids will also be able to meet popular characters such as Elsa from Frozen, the dogs of Paw Patrol, and Andy Armadillo. There will also be soccer darts, which is an inflatable dart board which you kick soccer balls at to score points depending on which ring you hit.
“[Soccer darts are] new to XL Sports World and [are] now being offered as an option for birthday parties,” said Jill Mosiondz, whose husband, Doug, created the Keeping Kids Connected website.
The open house will allow kids to meet coaches and participate in demos of programs that XL sports offers for the community’s youth for fall. The demos include football, soccer, lacrosse, basketball and taekwondo.
“It's a great opportunity to see the different sports teams in action through their demonstrations and you can chat with the coaches,” Mosiondz added. “There will also be a number of different local businesses [and] organizations there, representing other activities such as dance, gymnastics, swimming, art and much more.”
Keeping Kids Connected, the co-host of this year’s open house, was started by Doug Mosiondz, a stay-at-home dad who is working on finishing his master’s program in Computer Science. According to his wife, Jill, he is always looking for something for his kids to do and enjoys web design, so he decided to combine these into one to help other parents find things for their kids to do in Montgomery County and central/upper Bucks County.
