A Montgomery Township police officer was recognized for his service to the community.
Officer John Rushin was selected as the 2018 Montgomery County SWAT- Central Region Officer of the Year. He was recognized for his achievement at Monday night’s board of supervisors meeting. He is the fourth Montgomery Township officer to be honored with the award.
Rushin joined the Montgomery County Police Department to fill a vacancy created by the retirement of Chief Richard Brady. He graduated from Penn State University-Altoona and Montgomery County Community College.
