The Lansdale Historical Society will be hosting a “High School Memories” display of memorabilia of Lansdale High School, North Penn High School and Lansdale Catholic High School.
The collection will be on display this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Lansdale Parks and Recreation building, located at 660 Lansdale Avenue. People are welcome to come and go at their convenience. There is no admission charge and kids are welcome to attend.
“Last October, [the Hatfield Museum and History Society] put out all their high school memorabilia for one day for people to come and look at,” said Linda Evans, a trustee of the Lansdale Historical Society. “After a couple of us saw that program, we thought it was something we should do, too.”
The items of the collection were donated by people in the Lansdale area. The collection includes all of the yearbooks from Lansdale High School and North Penn High School. It also includes most yearbooks from Lansdale Catholic. Memorabilia in the collection includes trophies, sweater letters and photos, among other items.
Evans said that the event is a great way view the history of Lansdale through the lens of the education provided by the various high schools.
“I hope they learn more about the history of the schooling in Lansdale and have fun looking at the old yearbooks,” said Evans. “Possibly, they might even connect with some people that they knew in high school.”
