Manhattan Bagel Is Coming to Lansdale

A Manhattan Bagel shop will soon be opening up on South Broad Street in Lansdale. The store is on track to open in the Pavilion Shopping Center in early 2019.

The Lansdale store will be owned by Donald Bradley, who has also owned the Manhattan Bagel in Chalfont for 13 years.

Bradley was drawn to the good food and community atmosphere that the chain offers.

"While researching the brand, I realized pretty quickly that Manhattan Bagel is more than just a place that serves coffee and fresh-baked bagels,” said Bradley. "It's a friendly neighborhood meeting place for people in the community.”

The new store will take over the location of Saxby's/Abyss Coffee and the adjacent bank building. The biggest challenge has been adapting the structure for the restaurant.

"It has taken some additional time to convert the former coffee shop and bank into one storefront,” said Bradley. "It has been a lot of fun to design this location to meet the needs of the Lansdale community.”

Besides a drive-through lane, "Our layout will feature ample seating, communal tables for meetings, and a fireplace with cozy chairs to relax in,” he added.

Bradley expects to begin the hiring process in January, so those who are looking for a job in the near future should be on the lookout for job postings. The store will close at 5 p.m., so the positions are great for both students and adults.

Bradley is looking forward to expanding into Lansdale, and hopes to keep expanding further into Bucks and Montgomery Counties in the future.

"My wife and I lived in Lansdale for a number of years and loved the community,” said Bradley. "We have been closely following the exciting growth, and once we had the opportunity to open a new location in Lansdale we jumped at the chance.”
