Hatfield Borough Mayor Named PA Mayor of the Year

Robert L. Kaler III, the mayor of Hatfield Borough, has been named the Pennsylvania Mayor of the Year for 2018 by the Pennsylvania State Mayors’ Association (PSMA).

According to the association website, “the Pennsylvania State Mayors’ Association (PSMA) invites officials of the municipalities of its member mayors to consider whether their mayors have had a significant impact upon their communities and are worthy of the title ‘Mayor of the Year.’”

The mayor has served the Hatfield Borough community for more than 60 years. According to the Hatfield Borough website, his service includes being a lifetime member of the Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company and the Hatfield Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Hatfield History Society.

Aside from being active in civic service, Kaler was a banker and is now retired from the industry. He graduated from the PA School of Banking and the American Institute of Banking. He also served in the United States Navy.

According to Hatfield Borough’s website, Kaler is an active member of Grace Lutheran Church. He and his wife, Linda, have five children and 13 grandchildren.
