Montgomery Township Board of Supervisors made donations to two local organizations Monday night, sending funds to both the Montgomery Township Historical Society and the Visiting Nurses Association.
"[The funds] will be used for repairs and grounds maintenance [on the Knapp Farm]," said Lisa Knapp-Siegal, of the Montgomery Township Historical Society.
The property itself dates back to the early 1700's with the farmhouse estimated to have been constructed around 1760, according to Knapp-Siegal. It has seen an increasing amount of visitors recently, seeking out a scenic backdrop for engagement, prom and wedding photos, Knapp-Siegal added.
As for the Visiting Nurses Association, they provide health services to some of the most vulnerable in our society, including children and the elderly who lack health insurance or possess sub-par health insurance. The organization has been in existence for 99 years, providing healthcare assistance as well as in-home care.
The Montgomery Township Historical society will have a 'Funny Fundraiser" scheduled for Friday, September 21, at the Comedy Cabaret in Doylestown.
