Widespread power outages continue across Montgomery and Bucks counties Tuesday morning following severe storms that swept through the region, knocking out electricity to hundreds of residents in the North Penn, Perkiomen Valley and Central Bucks areas, and thousands across the state.

As of 10 a.m., PECO reported 455 active outages statewide, impacting 9,358 customers out of approximately 1.7 million served. In Montgomery County alone, 3,387 customers remain without power across 165 outages, while Bucks County reported 1,412 customers affected across 91 outages, both representing less than 5 percent of total customers.

North Penn area seeing scattered outages

In the North Penn region, outages are relatively small but widespread. In Upper Gwynedd Township, two outages near Lower Valley and Croft roads and near Royal Avenue are affecting about 41 customers, with restoration estimated by 11 p.m. Tuesday.

A smaller outage affecting fewer than five customers near Morris Road is not expected to be restored until Wednesday morning.

In Montgomery Township, about 179 customers are without power across eight outages, including impacted areas along Morningside Drive, Sunset Drive and near Horsham Road and Bethlehem Pike. Crews are still assessing damage in several of those locations.

Perkiomen Valley hit harder in pockets

More concentrated outages are being reported in the Perkiomen Valley region, particularly in Lower Frederick Township, where about 260 customers — roughly 12% of the township — are without power across 11 outages.

Additional outages include:

  • Salford Township: 104 customers affected across seven outages
  • Trappe Borough: 94 customers affected across four outages
  • Lower Providence Township: 136 customers affected across nine outages
  • Collegeville Borough: 60 customers affected

Smaller but notable outages include 53 customers in Skippack Township, including areas near Lyswicki and Collegeville roads, with restoration expected by 11 p.m. Tuesday, and 27 customers near Fischer’s Park in Towamencin Township, also with an estimated restoration by Tuesday night.

Central Bucks outages remain limited but widespread

In Bucks County, outages are more dispersed. Buckingham Township has the highest impact, with about 313 customers affected across 15 outages. Other municipalities reporting outages include:

  • Warminster Township: 42 customers affected
  • Warrington Township: 25 customers affected
  • Bedminster Township: 27 customers affected
  • Doylestown Township, New Britain Township and Warwick Township: minimal outages affecting fewer than 10 customers each

PPL outages hit Upper Bucks communities hard

Additional outages reported by PPL Electric Utilities are impacting parts of Upper Bucks County, particularly in Hilltown and Rockhill areas.

The largest outages include:

  • More than 500 customers in East Rockhill Township along Route 313, Ridge Road and Route 563
  • 287 customers near Perkasie in Hilltown Township, including Telegraph Road, South Perkasie Road and Callowhill Road
  • 200 customers along West Main Street in Hilltown Township, between Keystone Drive and Route 309

Other outages include:

  • 53 customers near 7 Corner Road and Dublin Way in East Rockhill
  • 57 customers near Allentown and Ridge Valley roads in West Rockhill Township
  • 51 customers near Upper Rocky Dale Road in West Rockhill Township
  • Smaller outages ranging from two to 23 customers in Franconia and Hilltown townships

Restoration times for PPL customers vary, with some expected to be restored by Tuesday evening and others not until Wednesday afternoon.

Restoration efforts ongoing

PECO crews are continuing restoration work throughout the region, though some outages — particularly those still under assessment — may not be restored until late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

Residents are advised to report outages directly to PECO, avoid downed power lines and remain cautious around storm-damaged areas as cleanup and repairs continue.
