Fairmount Fire Police have closed a portion of West Main Street near Valley Forge Road Tuesday morning due to a reported PECO gas leak at a construction site.
Around 11:15 a.m., fire police were dispatched to the scene to assist police and the fire company for a leaking gas line struck by a member of a construction crew, per emergency dispatch reports.
PECO is expected on scene within the hour.
There is an active leak in the road from a 1-inch service line, per the borough fire marshal.
