Heavy flames reported from second floor of Shady Lane residence Monday afternoon
Firefighters from multiple departments rushed to a house fire Monday afternoon in Montgomery Township after flames were reported shooting from a second-story window of a home on Shady Lane.
Emergency crews were dispatched around 12:30 p.m. to the 100 block of Shady Lane near Richardson Road, where initial reports indicated heavy fire on the second floor of a dwelling.
According to early reports from the scene, flames were visible from a second-story window as firefighters arrived.
Authorities said an elderly occupant of the home was able to safely exit the residence before emergency crews arrived. No immediate injuries were reported.
Responding agencies included Montgomery Township Police, the Fire Department of Montgomery Township, Colmar Fire Company, Hilltown Fire Company, Perseverance Fire Company of Souderton, North Penn Fire Company, Hatfield Fire Company and Warrington Township Fire Company.
Firefighters remained on scene Monday afternoon after quickly bringing the blaze under control. The cause of the fire.remains under investigation.
