Sumneytown is closed in Upper Gwynedd Township between Church and Allentown roads.
A vehicular accident in Upper Gwynedd has traffic in the township slowed as one major area roadway is closed.
According to county dispatch, units were called to the area of Sumneytown Pike and Church Road in Upper Gwynedd Township near the area of KORI Korean Barbecue for the report of a vehicle into a wall around 6:31 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4. First responders found a silver four-door, hatchback-style car that had driven into the railroad tunnel wall.
Witnesses at the scene reported that it may have included a second vehicle, but only one remains into the wall at this time.
The car was heavily damaged, with debris greatly littering the vicinity. Yellow caution tape is roping off the area at this time, and Sumneytown Pike, from Church to Allentown roads is closed at this hour.
While the conditions have not been released, at least two people were transported by ambulance from the scene. Authorities remain in the area, investigating the crash at this time.
Responding to the scene were units from VMSC Lansdale, Upper Gwynedd Township Fire Department, Fairmount Fire Company of Lansdale, local police, and other first responders.
