A fully engulfed fire destroyed a Worcester Township barn Friday night, requiring many area first responders to report to the scene.
According to county dispatch, units were called to the 3100 block of Heebner Road in Worcester around 11:06 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30. The barn on the property was described as “fully involved” by those at the scene.
The barn, described by emergency crews as being around 25 by 100 feet in size, had several roof collapses during the blaze. Public works crews were on scene, as frigid temperatures created ice on nearby roadways, due to the fire hydrants.
No injuries were reported in the fire. No one was known to be inside the barn. Reporting to the scene were units from Towamencin Fire Company, Upper Gwynedd Township Fire Department, Worcester Fire Company, Skippack Emergency Medical Service, Inc., Harleysville Fire Company, Skippack Fire Company, Lower Providence Fire Department, North Penn Fire Company, Upper Salford Fire Company, and Norriton Fire Engine Company, among other first responders.
The cause of the fire has not yet been released. More information on the incident will be published as information is made available.
