A Lower Salford Township man awaits sentencing in Montgomery County Court after pleading guilty to charges of rape and endangering the welfare of a child in May 2025.
Brett A. Rissmiller, 40, of the 400 block of Main Street, faces four to 10 years in prison as part of a plea agreement and may register as a sex offender as well, per The Mercury. First, he must be evaluated by the state Sexual Offenders Assessment Board.
Furthermore, Rissmiller also faces a psychosexual evaluation, according to the report.
Rissmiller remains free on bail pending his formal sentencing hearing, tentatively scheduled for May 4, which The Mercury reports at which time he will be taken into custody to begin serving the sentence.
As a condition of bail, Rissmiller is prohibited from having contact with the victim.
Rissmiller sexually assaulted the 17-year-old girl when they were alone at a home in the township, investigators said. He plied the girl with vodka, making her “dizzy and happy,” and then rubbed her back and inappropriately touched her before sexually assaulting her, according to charging documents.
Other charges of aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault and selling or furnishing liquor to a minor are slated to be dismissed against Rissmiller at the time of sentencing, per the report.
Rissmiller was represented by attorney Margeaux Kelly Cigainero.
