The crash occurred in the West Ward neighborhood at S. Cannon and Delaware avenues
A driver of a Mazda was taken into custody by Lansdale Police following a 2-car crash at South Cannon and Delaware avenues in Lansdale Borough, shortly after 9 a.m. Friday, following nearby York Avenue Elementary morning dropoff.
At least one elementary-aged girl was taken to an area hospital for treatment of suspected injuries who was an occupant in a Subaru sedan, in the 9:18 a.m. crash. The driver of the Subaru was on Cannon Avenue, when it is believed the driver of the Mazda ran the stop sign and crashed into the front-end of the Subaru.
According to Montgomery County dispatch reports, one vehicle came to a rest in a yard and the second vehicle was blocking the intersection.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The Subaru sustained severe front-end damage. No additional injuries were reported.
The crash closed the intersection in the West Ward neighborhood for a short period of time, as vehicles were removed and debris was cleared from the intersection.
Lansdale Police and VMSC Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. The scene was cleared by 9:50 a.m.
